SummaryJob Profile Summary
The Systems Operations Center Analyst will be responsible for
defending against cybersecurity incidents, as well as identifying,
analyzing, communicating, and containing these incidents when they
do occur. Additionally, the Security Operations Analyst will be
responsible for working with Managed Security Service Providers and
coordinating efforts between third parties and internal
staff.Position DescriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Conducts network monitoring and intrusion detection analysis
using various network defense tools, intrusion detection systems,
firewalls, and end-point protection.
- Correlates network activity across networks to identify trends
of unauthorized use.
- Reviews alerts and data from sensors and creates formal
incident reports.
- Research emerging threats and vulnerabilities to aid in the
identification of network incidents
- Provides Information Technology with incident response support,
including mitigating actions to contain activity and facilitating
forensics analysis when necessary
- Tests new computers, software, and network gear before
implementation to ensure security
- Supports the creation of business continuity/disaster recovery
plans, including conducting disaster recovery tests, publishing
test results, and making changes necessary to address
deficiencies
- Travel up to 10% is requiredQualificationsEducation/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) or equivalent from four-year
college or university in Computer Science, Information Security, or
related field is preferred. Law enforcement or military background
is helpful. 5 years of experience in Operational/Information
Security, especially experience on Incident Response Teams or
Security Operations Center. 3 years of experience in an IT Audit
capacity. 3 years of experience with regulatory compliance and
information security management frameworks (e.g., IS027000, COBIT,
NIST 800, etc.). Equivalent combination of education and experience
will be considered.Computer Skills: To perform this job
successfully, an individual must be proficient with Microsoft
Office 365 tools. Must be able to develop effective internal
presentation and report materials. Skills with JIRA is
preferred.Certificates and Licenses: Certified Information Systems
Security Professional (CISSP) and/or Certified Information Security
