Medical results and health related data resulting from medical testing for COVID-19 and from any necessary related medical examination. Airline, rental car, and hotel account/membership information. Internet or other electronic network activity information, including, but not limited to, browsing history, search history, and information regarding a consumer's interaction with an Internet Web site, application, or advertisement. We will not collect any additional categories of PII or use your PII collected for any other purpose without providing you with additional notice consistent with the CCPA.Position SummaryThe Medical Records Assistant (Non Nurse) assists with patients' clinical records, including coding, auditing, and record management in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.Education, Experience, and Licensure RequirementsMust possess a high school diploma or equivalentPrior medical records experience preferredSpecific Job RequirementsMust demonstrate knowledge of State and Federal legal requirements relating to documentation, confidentiality, and legal issues pertaining to health informationMust be able to effectively communicate with physicians, nursing staff, and allied health personnelMust be able to demonstrate efficient usage of complex computer software systemsMust have functional knowledge in field of practiceMust possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actionMust be knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facilityMust have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the departmentMust perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitationMaintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationMust understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance proceduresDisplays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance trainingEssential FunctionsMust be able to accurately audit and complete ongoing reviews of all patients' clinical records to ensure documentation and performance complianceMust be able to accurately maintain current, overflow, and discharged record filing systemMust understand and apply LTC payment systems, including MedicareMust be able to apply the use of ICD 10 CM codingMust have an understanding of HIPAA requirementsMust exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patientsMust be able to assist in the evacuation of patientsMust demonstrate dependable, regular attendanceMust be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgmentMust be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary teamMust be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hoursMust be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English languageAn Equal Opportunity Employer
