Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum): $34.170 - $44.090 - $49.370

employer business practices. What You Will Do The role will be
assisting pharmacy leadership in providing leadership and
operational support with the Home Infusion Pharmacy and Specialty
Pharmacy team. Our pharmacy technicians with these teams will
report to you and this role will also be assisting in staffing for
these departments. Required Qualifications California Pharmacy
Technician License (TCH) - CA State Board of Pharmacy -REQUIRED
Preferred Qualifications H.S. Diploma or Equivalent 3 Years
Experience in hospital, Home Infusion pharmacy environment or
equivalent healthcare setting 1 Year Experience in a leadership
role. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - Pharmacy Technician
Certification Board -PREFERRED Essential Functions Clinical IV
practice Displays consistently high accuracy in the preparation of
IV admixtures by using strict aseptic technique, picking the
correct medication and calculating admixture contents. Is familiar
with available technologies: Automix, micromix, etc. Prepares all
IV admixtures in strict accordance with established guidelines.
Properly handles and prepares chemotherapeutic agents using the
appropriate precautions in the Biological Safety Cabinet (BSC).
Organizes workload to accomplish all admixture tasks in time to
meet established batch delivery times. Performs primary check of
labeling to ascertain completeness of label according to
established procedures. Always obtains pharmacist check prior to
dispensing IV admixtures. Willingly responds to special admixture
requests: i.e. STAT, ASAP and now medication orders. Recycles IVs
where possible and removes expired products from circulation.
Maintains IV area in a clean/orderly manner and restocks prior to
the end of shift. Communicates workload or operational issues to
supervisors in a consistent and timely manner. Evaluation
Method(s): O: Observation; T: Test; M: Quality Monitoring; D:
Demonstration Equipment maintenance and monitoring Monitors hood
inspection dates and facilitates inspection process. Assures that
laminar hood pre-filters are checked each month and either cleaned
or replaced as appropriate. Maintains documentation of pre-filter
changes. Maintains documentation in the Manufacture Logs and
Patient Picklists. Participates in employee process validation and
end product testing of admixed products. Cleans and documents
cleaning of horizontal laminar flow hood / Biological Safety
Cabinet, and performs all tubing and IV solution changes, equipment
setup, testing and calibrations according to department procedures
100% of the time. Monitors and documents monitoring on
refrigerator/freezer temperature log. Removes outdated and unusable
medications. Maintains neat and organized work area at all times.
Maintains integrity of Pharmacy Waste streams. Evaluation

Review; D: Demonstration Inventory management Performs computer
order entry for enteral products and prescription service. Perform
pharmacy buyer functions of inventory control, purchasing,
verifying receipt of invoiced items, restocking, and maintenance of
drug par levels. Updates prices in the computer system. Assists
with the completion of Bi-Annual controlled substance inventory and
annual drug inventory preparation. Assures that incoming phone
calls are answered promptly and with courtesy. Prioritizes new
orders/requests and enters them into the computer (where
applicable) for verification by the pharmacist. Packages pharmacist
checked medications and supplies for delivery. Consistently
prioritizes and accomplishes all workload in a manner that promotes
smooth pharmacy operations and the medication preparation delivery
process. Performs clerical functions such as: filing filled
prescriptions and picklists. Performs intake phone interviews and
documentation for new referrals. Coordinates intake process with
pharmacists and account analysts.Evaluation Method(s): O:

safety and use Demonstrates proactive participation in medication
safety initiatives by: Proactively identifies potential medication
safety improvement opportunities such as look alike, sound alike
medication storage and packaging issues, delivery / storage /
security related issues, inventory management issues etc. and works
with Pharmacy Management to develop, implement and monitor programs
to address these medication use / safety surveillance initiatives.
Prepares performance improvement, monitoring reports and provides
data as required by pharmacy management. Project assistance
Provides ongoing support and performance improvement
recommendations for: existing and new information technology
projects as they arise (ie.Home Infusion pumps, Barcoding, OnBase
etc); regulatory improvements, including USP797 initiatives; and
medication Safety initiatives/efforts. Provides implementation and
ongoing support for automation technologies (Pharmacy Computer
systems, BAXA repeater pump, Rapidfill, TPN compounder and Abacus
software, Pyxis C2 Safe, OnBase, PC label software, Bulk order
spreadsheet etc). Regulatory requirements Collaborates with
Director, Managers, Information Systems to standardize, update
and/or maintain policies and procedures. Assists in the development
and implementation of policies and procedures. Assists with
attaining and maintaining compliance with Federal, State,
Regulatory and Safety requirements and JC. Staff supervision In
collaboration with Pharmacy Manager and pharmacist staff, oversees
and regularly interacts with pharmacy technician IV specialist to
assess staffing and workload needs to assure the operational
efficiency and quality of services. Monitors completion of daily
work assignments of the technical staff and assists staff as
necessary to accomplish daily workload. Monitors completion of
quality assurance documentation required by regulatory agencies,
relays compliance or documentation issues to Pharmacy Manager, and
follows-up with corrective measures. Assists with the preparation
of schedule for technical and courier staff. Assists with day to
day scheduling issues (i.e. sick calls, staff flexing). Assists
Pharmacy Manager in the evaluation of personnel and implementation
of supportive and / or corrective action when appropriate. Training
and education Assists with the interviewing process for prospective
staff. Assists with the development and ongoing implementation of
orientation programs for new pharmacy technicians and orients new
pharmacists to pharmacy technician programs. Responsible for the
evaluation and monitoring of staff training needs and for the
training of technical staff. Provides technical guidance to the
staff. Supports ergonomic improvement initiatives, teaching, and
assists with enforcing compliance with measures designed to reduce
employee injury. Provides computer training and serves as a
department resource as needed. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Computer skills highly desirable, especially in the application of
pharmacy computer systems (e.g. Carecast, Cerner, Pyxis), word
processing, spreadsheet and databases (Microsoft Office) Sharp
