Job Description Certification Details - CRCST Job Details - Oversees day-to-day operations of sterile processing to ensure efficient workflow, regulatory compliance, and high-quality outcomes. - Leads a team of technicians to ensure surgical instruments and equipment are cleaned, assembled, and sterilized according to standards. - Maintains a safe and productive work environment. - Supervises sterile processing technicians and coordinates shift assignments to ensure adequate coverage and workflow. - Monitors decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments. - Oversees compliance with ANSI/AAMI standards, IFUs, and internal SOPs. - Performs and reviews quality assurance audits and ensures documentation is complete and accurate. - Trains and mentors SPD staff, supporting professional development and competencies. - Manages equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting in coordination with maintenance teams. - Collaborates with site leadership on timekeeping, scheduling, and operational goals. - Works closely with other departments to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments. - Promotes safety, regulatory compliance, and infection control in all aspects of operations. - Communicates customer service feedback and responds to concerns effectively. - Assists in supply inventory management and reorder processes. - Supports continuous quality improvement initiatives and monitoring of KPIs. - Direct supervision of all sterile processing staff during assigned shift. Job Requirements - Minimum of three (3) years of sterile processing experience. - Two (2) or more years in a supervisory or leadership role in healthcare or manufacturing environments. - Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. - Knowledge of sterilization standards, OSHA regulations, and infection control practices. - Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment. - Familiarity with medical device reprocessing and general surgical instruments. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and timekeeping systems. - Team-oriented with the ability to motivate and support staff. - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Certification in sterile processing (CRCST) required. Schedule Information - Coordinates shift assignments to ensure adequate coverage and workflow. - Direct supervision of all sterile processing staff during assigned shift. Additional Details - Preferred education: College degree or three-plus years of leadership experience. - Preferred certifications: Certification in sterile processing (CIS), Healthcare leadership certification (HSPA-CHL).
