SummaryThe Manager, Continuous Process Improvement will be
responsible to define and drive business transformation through
streamlining operations and building new solutions to simplify
business processes and deliver on our strategic objectives. Primary
responsibility for development and deployment of the tools, methods
and processes including Lean Management Systems to further the
growth and efficiencies throughout manufacturing. Will define
problems, collect data, establish facts, and act on those findings,
by facilitating and introducing lean culture and procedures to
drive business performance improvementsPosition
DescriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the
following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Leads and designs Lean Manufacturing goals and strategies for
improving the operations and processes within the organization
- Manages all activities for continuous improvement and
performance enhancement
- Drive company-wide lean initiatives to improve operational
effectiveness as measured by quality, lead-time reduction and
customer satisfaction
- Identify and implement continuous improvement activities to
produce tangible savings and process improvements in the
manufacturing process
- Partner with leadership to deploy the lean programs across the
various manufacturing departments to move the overall culture in
the manufacturing operations and drive efficiencies and increased
productivity
- Coach, mentor and train team members on improvement tools such
as: Lean Thinking, 5S and Lean & Waste elimination approaches
- Prepare and track project metrics and schedules
- Schedule daily production for on-time completion
- Collaborate with peers and department managers to determine key
goals and objectives, and corresponding metrics
- Employs Lean methodologies and tools in order to accomplish
business objectives
- Manage timely achievement of key performance goals and
objectives.
- Perform root cause analysis and propose/implement process
improvements to further the manufacturing output and optimize all
phases of production processQualificationsEducation/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) or equivalent from four-year
college in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics,
Engineering or related field. Minimum 10 years of progressive
operational leadership within a manufacturing environment. Direct
experience in furniture manufacturing operation is preferred.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing/six sigma techniques. Strong
knowledge of manufacturing, operations and quality. 5 years of
experience leading continuous improvement efforts and delivering
results in business processes or operations. Solid background with
implementation of lean continuous improvement resulting in improved
performance in quality, lead-time and productivity. Equivalent
combination of education and experience will be considered.Computer
Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have
proficient knowledge Microsoft Office products including Office,
Outlook, and Excel.Certificates and Licenses: Lean Manufacturing,
Six Sigma or APICSs certification (Preferred)Supervisory
Responsibilities: This position will directly manage will oversee
team members in the production team. Develop and execute the
company's business strategies in order to attain the goals of the
board and shareholders. Provide strategic advice so direct reports
will have accurate view of the market and the company's future.
Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate.
Ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated all
the way from the top down in the company and that they are followed
at all times. Communicate and maintain trust relationships with
shareholders, business partners, and authorities. Able to delegate
responsibilities and supervise the work of direct reports providing
guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance.Equal
