markets we serve.Essential Functions of the Role:The Project
Engineer assists Program Managers in leading integrated product
teams (IPT) and execution of key business projects, with focus on
the technical aspects of the project product development. Daily
oversight of project execution is the primary responsibility of the
project engineer, including oversight of hardware and software
design process, engineering material procurement, new product
design verification and qualification testing. Customer interface
and transfer of new product design to manufacturing, leading
regular IPT meetings, and regular reporting of project status to
program and executive management are other key project engineer
responsibilities. The project engineer will work closely with the
program manager to define project charter, scope of work, baseline
schedule, budget, and resource allocation.Requirements:Engineering
degree with min 5+ years experience managing complex engineering
projects with diverse teams.Skilled in developing and managing
detailed project schedules with input from all stakeholders. Able
to perform schedule analysis as necessary (critical path analysis,
what-if scenarios, etc.)Ability to responsibly manage a budget and
make sensible financial decisions relative to the respective
projectFamiliar with performing risk assessments and analysis to
make project decisions based on limited informationFamiliar with
phase-gate design process and key design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR,
TRR, MRR) for new product developmentsAbility to quickly pull
together manhour, cost and schedule estimatesAbility to prepare and
implement detailed project execution plans, including, but not
limited to, scope definition, schedule, budget, communication, and
procurement strategiesAbility to coordinate and conduct effective
meetings and follow up with detailed minutes of meeting, action
item list, as well as provide detailed reports to internal and
external stakeholders as necessaryAbility to assist in solving
complex engineering problems and making key technical decisions to
drive the project forwardExcellent working knowledge of Microsoft
Office tools, including MS ProjectAbility to develop professional
relationships with stakeholders as well as manage difficult
personalities and resolve conflicts quicklyExcellent leadership and
coordination skills. Able to lead, develop, motivate and supervise
IPT members. Must be able to make the hard decisions and be
accountable for those decisions.Ability to work on many challenges
simultaneously and resolve quicklyAbility to manage projects
effectively with limited supervisionAbility to smoothly pivot and
reforecast when things dont go according to planExtremely motivated
to deliver on time, on budget, or better. Self-driven to
continuously improve.Good understanding of change management and
avoidance of scope creepExcellent organization skills and attention
to detailEffective written and verbal communication skills with
both internal and external stakeholders. Must be able to
communicate with confidence and quality.Familiarity with
manufacturing documentation (Bill of Materials, Assembly Drawings
and Instructions, Production Travelers, etc.)Nice to have:Project
Management Professional (PMP) Certificate a plus.Experience with
military and airborne projects a plusFamiliarity with Agile PLM
software and SAP a plusFamiliarity with printed circuit board
assembly (PCBA) developmentFamiliarity in a production
environmentFamiliarity in RF and electronic systemFamiliarity in
Software developmentPhysical requirements:While performing the
