Position Summary

The Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) will partner with corporate department leaders to develop and execute HR strategies focused on organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and employee engagement. In partnership with HR leadership, develops the relevant HR strategies and plan to align with the business objectives.

Position Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Establish and maintain a deep understanding of the corporate departments, as well as emerging trends in talent management and organizational dynamics across the industry
  • Build effective and productive working relationships with internal stakeholders, at all levels of the organization
  • Drive people engagement strategies that align with business priorities and foster an environment where all team members are respected and valued
  • Acts as a partner with the business leaders on strategic workforce planning, succession planning and organizational structure changes
  • Coach business leaders on HR policies and processes, including talent planning, learning and development, and performance management to promote engagement and a culture of continuous growth and development
  • Guide leaders on how to handle progressive discipline, separations, and other issues that might be highly sensitive and complex in nature
  • Conduct workplace internal investigations and provide recommendations as to appropriate action and resolution
  • Develop and maintain relationships with team members, providing HR support on all matters
  • Assist team members in resolving work related concerns
  • Support the execution of the HR strategy and ensure the delivery of core HR services across the corporate teams
  • Help to integrate diversity and inclusion strategies and priorities into business plans
  • Build compelling presentations leveraging workforce analytics and insights to focus leaders on relevant business issues and assessing potential solutions
  • Be an effective bridge builder across all functions and levels within the organization
  • Challenge the status quo; pursue different approaches to our work by demonstrating flexibility, transparency, agility and global thinking
  • Active member of the HR team, building relationships across the HR/L&D team and supporting HR initiatives and projects as required
  • Act as a steward of the Living Spaces culture

    Education/Experience: Bachelors degree (B. A. or B. S.) or equivalent from four-year college in Business, Human Resources, Psychology, or related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in Human Resources Partner or Generalist role. Strong HR functional expertise; working knowledge on employment law matters, employment legislation, and compliance management. Prior experience in big box multi-unit retail environment is a plus. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

    Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. HRIS experience is required. Working knowledge in Workday is a plus.
